The Bridge Wellness Center reimagines the behavioral health and emotional wellness needs of youth, young adults and low-income families with the understanding that health and wellness outcomes are influenced by not only medical factors but other social determinants of health (SDOH). The priority populations served by The Bridge are youth and young adults ages 13-25 and families from low income, underserved, underrepresented, and economically disadvantaged communities/households. The project not only provides traditional mental health services and holistic healing approaches but also incorporates a "one stop shop" access center that provides equitable access to additional social, economic, and environmental (community) services to improve health outcomes amongst the priority populations. These critical services are brought together under one roof at The Bridge facility by co-locating the services of other community-based organizations and service providers. By leveraging community partnerships and resources, The Bridge increases equitable access to comprehensive services thus improving community health outcomes. To engage the voices of youth, the Bridge incorporates a full music recording studio and technology lab to promote and empower the voices of beneficiaries. In addition, the facility design itself is being created in collaboration with community members which will incorporate art from community members.
