**JOB ANNOUNCEMENT**: Broadcast Engineer - Level III (Fort Meade, MD)

General Description of the Position’s function and purpose: To provide entry-level maintenance and engineering support to production equipment and related networks located in Fort Meade, MD.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required by the job:

- Basic/Working knowledge of signal flow, use, and maintenance of digital television equipment in all categories, including video processing, switching, and storage systems.
- Basic/Working knowledge in digital video and formats, codecs, progressive vs. interlaced, MPEG standard.
- Basic/Working knowledge in repairing and maintaining digital and analog video/audio systems.
- Basic/Working knowledge of RF systems, modulation techniques, antennas, and wave propagation, as well as maintenance and operation.
- Basic/Working knowledge of IP-based Audio and Video Broadcast Systems.
- Basic/Working knowledge troubleshooting non-linear editors (Adobe, Avid, Pro Tools, etc.)
- Basic/Working knowledge of IT computer systems, networks, network shares, routers and switches, FTP and file base workflows, and general security.
- Basic/Working knowledge in performing periodic preventive maintenance in use, including calibration.
- Basic/Working knowledge in using test equipment (multi-meter, signal generators, cable tracer, etc.)
- Basic/Working knowledge in fabricating and troubleshooting specialized cables and harnesses, and installing cables and equipment to industry standards.
- Must be able to multi-task within a Control Room or Studio environment.
- Must be able to comprehend schematic diagrams, block diagrams, wiring drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Must communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Qualifications - Minimum Required:

- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least 2 years experience/education in broadcast engineering and maintenance or a related IT field.

Additional Requirements:

- Certified by CompTIA A+ or Network+ (or equivalent) within six months of hire.
- Certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers as a Broadcast Technologist (or equivalent) within one year of hire.
- Certified in Broadcast Electronics or proven experience/ability to troubleshoot to component level within one year of hire.

General:

- Base Pay rate will be in accordance with the latest Department of Labor Wage Determination on the contract.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Tier 1 background check.
- Interview process includes a Broadcast/IT-related competency test.

Pay: $67,247.00 per year
