**THE POSITION**:

The Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Epidemiology, Division of Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention (HAIP), is in need of an epidemiologist supervisor to support the organization's mission of protecting the public's health through its responsibility for providing consultative, scientific, and technical expertise in the supervision of the analysis and interpretation of epidemiologic data to prevent and control healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). **DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
In this role, you will supervise a multidisciplinary team comprised of scientific researchers, specialists, consultants, quality improvement specialists, program and project managers, as well as ancillary staff, who evaluate information and produce reports using available data to review healthcare facility infection control plans for compliance, lead antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, oversee HAI-related projects, and supervise staff who oversee activities related to the HAIP Division. You will support the development of statewide plans, policies, and procedures for epidemiology, disease control, and related issues; manage the design and development of epidemiological database activities for assigned statewide public health programs; and coordinate statewide programs for preventive medicine, public health education, and other public health services within epidemiological program areas.

**Work Schedule and Additional Information**:

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- ** Telework**:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:

- One year as an Epidemiologist (Commonwealth of PA job title); **or**:

- Possession of either a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in epidemiology, Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD), Osteopathy (DO), Dental Surgery/Medicine (DDS/DDM/DMD), or Veterinary Medicine (DVM); AND three years of professional experience investigating disease outbreaks, designing and conducting epidemiologic studies, or designing and maintaining a disease surveillance system; **or**:

- Possession of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in a biological science such as biology, genetics, nursing or virology; AND either a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or Master of Science (MS) degree in epidemiology; AND three years of professional experience investigating disease outbreaks, designing and conducting epidemiologic studies, or designing and maintaining a disease surveillance system.

**Other Requirements**:

- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
