The St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System is seeking a Middle School Choir/General Music Teacher (1 FTE). A Teacher who can help students come to love and appreciate music in a Catholic learning environment. The teacher will have a passion to inspire students to group in their music enjoyment, appreciation, skills and performances:
**Responsibilities**:

- Teach and develop classroom materials for: Choir (Grades 6-8), General Music (Grade 5) and Music Theory (Grade 6-8)
- Plans, rehearses, and directs students in musical performances/concerts
- Provides opportunities for music ensembles
- Experience with Catholic liturgical music preferred
- Develop and use authentic assessment techniques aligned with learning goals and objectives
- Cooperate with other teachers to integrate music across the classes, curriculum, and campus
- Collaborate with other Fine Arts teachers at the campus and across the Xavier System
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development

**Qualifications**:

- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or university is required
- Current Wisconsin DPI license (1515 General Music/1511 Choral Music) or ability to obtain a Wisconsin DPI teaching license
- Previous experience in a school setting is beneficial, but not required
- Knowledgeable of music standards, content, best practices, differentiation, modifications, and accommodations within the curriculum
- Good written and verbal communication skills and technical reading and writing skills
- Submission to a legal background check
