**DEPARTMENT: BTCC Summer Camp**
**JOB TITLE: Summer Camp Counselor**
**REPORTS TO: Camp Director**
**SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week. Days/times will vary based on the camp schedule.**
**BENEFITS: Golf privileges, meals, end-of-summer party.**
**Who you are**:
- **You have previous experience as a camp counselor, or in babysitting and tutoring.**:
- **You are a top-notch communicator, creative, and have an upbeat and friendly attitude.**:
- **You are able to take direction, and also collaborate with the team of counselors around you.**:
- **You live and breathe all things summer, and love to be outside**
**The Essentials**
- **Assist with daily attendance and dismissal records for all campers.**:
- **Assist with supervision and facilitation of lunchtime activities**:
- **Assist Camp Activity Director with daily activities planned for their campers, and participation in them, as needed.**:
- **Accompany campers to all areas of the camp property, including First Aid, bathrooms, and activity areas.**:
- **Attend daily staff meetings.**:
- **Attend mandatory, pre-season orientation sessions.**:
- **Interact and communicate daily with campers, co-workers, and parents.**:
- **React calmly and effectively in emergency situations.**
**The Expectations**
- **Good interpersonal skills**:
- **Ability to positively motivate and manage children**:
- **Comfortable with taking direction, as well as communicating with co-workers**:
- **Highly responsible and well-organized in tending to campers’ daily needs**:
- **Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times**:
- **Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.**
**The Standards**
- **Prior Counselor experience preferred.**:
- **Minimum age requirement is 15 to meet CT Minor Law Guidelines for Licensed Camps.**:
- **Unexpired First Aid Certification and CPR Certifications - a plus.**:
- **Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.**:
- **Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.**:
- **Strong communication skills**:
- **Highly active, multitasking type of mentality.**:
- **Frequent Standing for extended periods of time.**:
- **Frequent Walking**:
- **Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity and sense of urgency to attend to young children needs**:
- **Work is performed both indoors and outdoors throughout the summer
