**Your Role**:
As the Recreation Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing recreational therapy services to consumers with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Indiana’s Medicaid Waiver program.

**Responsibilities**:
These are the responsibilities for the position, _although other duties may be assigned to meet Agency needs:_
- Provides supervision and mentoring to Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialists to include, but not limited to, hiring and training staff, approving staff time cards, developing staff evaluations, and creating career development plans.
- Completes initial intake to ensure that the needs of each consumer can be met through the program and works with the case management agency to get needed paperwork to start services.
- Creates a consumer file with all needed paperwork and maintains a consumer file for each consumer in the program.
- Provides recreational therapy activities to meet goals set in consumers Person Centered Individual Service Plan.
- Maintains progress notes for each session of therapy outlining the services provided and progress on goals.
- Collects documents and completes monthly billing for all Recreational Therapy services monthly.
- Uploads progress notes for all services provided each month into the Indiana Portal.
- Develops opportunities for programming to meet the wants and needs of consumers in the program such as group activities, social events, Special Olympic participation, etc.
- Attends team meetings as requested by families to discuss services.
- Establishes and maintains an effective relationship with consumers, families/representatives, Case Managers, and others to ensure a team approach to the delivery of services.
- Participates in professional training designed to upgrade job skills and facilitate program development.
- Observe safe job practices, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to participate in ongoing physical activity for more than 30 minutes
- Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to safely bend, twist, push, pull and reach.

**Qualifications**:

- National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively work with internal staff and external customers
- Organizational and Time Management skills
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office
- Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet agency driving requirements
