**Physician Extender**
**ON THE JOB TRAINING PROVIDED (Must possess a valid Athletic Trainer License in the state of New Jersey to be considered for the role)**
**Summary of Responsibilities**:
- Build rapport and relationships with our patients Understand THEIR GOALS
- Primary responsibility pertains to medical care coordination
- Obtain clinical history and perform preliminary assessments/evaluations
- Organize physician schedules, notes, imaging studies, care plans, etc.
- Record patient vitals, test results, progress notes, and other medical information while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Become the compassionate liaison between the physician and patient, providing support, attention, and encouragement to the patients and their families
- Conduct post-procedure next day follow-up
- Facilitate distribution of necessary Durable Medical Equipment
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including but not limited to, HIPAA and OSHA
- Partner with the Clinic Supervisor to execute additional administrative duties
- Stand out as a valuable team member, bringing energy in collaboration with all other healthcare disciplines in a team setting to help our patients get BETTER EVERYDAY
**Requirements**:
- Valid New Jersey Athletic Trainer License **REQUIRED**:
- Degree from and accredited Athletic Training Education Program
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with OTC certification
- Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for scope of practice
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills, especially the ability to show compassion for patients coming from all walks of life
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Willingness to challenge patients, other team members, and yourself
