We are looking for a lead host who takes pride in their work, their team, and the experience they deliver. At Lola’s, we are a small team. Our hosts work alongside our servers, bartenders, and back-of-house staff maintaining a clean, warm, welcoming environment. The ideal lead host is passionate about a high-quality guest experience, a skilled communicator, and self-motivated. Strong communication and respect for all team members and guests is required.

As well-established operators in the Madison community, including Ancora cafes and Cadre restaurant, we are committed to building community and enhancing the quality of life in our city by creating unique and memorable experiences through exceptional and thoughtful service and hospitality. We expect our staff to understand and commit to this along with us. We take great pride in our existing businesses and the relationships we have built with our guests and staff over the years, and look forward to creating more memories within the Madison community at Lola's We are looking to build a tight knit team of industry professionals who operate based on respect, kindness, and a love for this industry. - Host Responsibilities:_
- Warmly welcome and ensure guests are seated and receive attentive service while supporting front-of-house staff during scheduled shifts. This position reports directly to the Front-of-House Manager.
- Maintain a waitlist, accept phone calls, optimize seating, answer initial questions, dress tables, pass out menus, run food and bus tables as needed. No one is above any task.
- Ensure quality service by maintaining high levels of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation according to food health and safety standards.
- Carefully observe front-of-house operations, and address any issues
- Identify operational opportunities to enhance guest experience and implement plans to address
- Lead by example with positive open communication between front-of-house and back-of-house staff
- Organizes and completes daily cleaning/maintenance checklist as well as proper deep cleans
- Required Skills:_
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours a day
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds at a time on a regular basis
- One year previous hospitality industry experience preferred
- High level of professionalism and respect for teammates and guests
- Comfortable working in an active fast-paced environment
- Cleanliness and proper knowledge of restaurant operations
- Dependable, punctual, and on time
- Computer literacy
- Excellent verbal communication and organization skills
