Qmhp - Crisis Counselor

**Description**:
Home Is Where The Heart Is is seeking for a full-time **Crisis Stabilization Counselor **who has strong attention to detail. Must be able to work a full caseload with up to 40 hours per week
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for providing short-term interventions to adults with serious mental health diagnoses to include training in the following areas: crisis response, care coordination, medication management, daily living skills, symptom identification and management, community integration, interpersonal functioning, communication skills and health and wellness management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
- Participation in clinical supervision and staff meetings
- Submission of daily progress notes in a timely manner
- Ability to coordinate with various service providers, insurance companies and family members to achieve positive outcomes and prevent the individual's risk for hospitalization
- Refer the individual to other services that support the goals and objectives of the Individualized Service Plan ISP
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field or Bachelor’s in a non-related field with 15 semester hours in human services with at least one year of experience with adults. **(QMHP-As)**:
- **Must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP-A/C or registered as an LMHP**:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with clients with mental health conditions.
- Reliable transportation is required
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Wave and must present a valid Virginia Driver’s License and vehicle insurance.
- Tuberculosis test
- Must willing to do criminal background and CPS registry checks
