**Position Qualifications**
- Shall be at least 18 years old.
- Shall have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. certification, or equivalent.
- Shall be able to demonstrate a proven track record of previous veterinary technician experience in a veterinary practice.
- Demonstrates a passion for working with animals and their owners and a basic understanding of animal behavior and animal health care.
- Has proficient computer skills, including Apple and PIMS.
- Has the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage numerous different patients’ needs at one time.
- Demonstrates attention to detail in order to maintain accurate patient records.
- Has the physical ability to restrain larger pets, when necessary.
- Demonstrate competence in communicating well with others.
- Shall be able to read, write, and converse fluently in English.
- Shall be able to provide verifiable positive references.
- Shall have reliable transportation and must be able to work weekdays.

**Primary Responsibilities**

The Veterinary Technician will have the following primary responsibilities:

- Assists veterinarians in examining and monitoring animal patients, including holding and restraining animals during exams and administering medications.
- Gives injections and administers oral medications in accordance with clinic policy.
- Performs clinical laboratory procedures such as fecal flotation exams, heartworm checks, skin scrapings, urinalysis, and fungal cultures.
- Draws blood for laboratory analysis; maintains file of lab test results and ensures that test results are recorded in patient records.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and tools.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
