Police Dispatcher

**_This position supports a 24-hour per day, 7-day a week operation._**
**_Work schedule is variable which includes nights, weekends, and holidays and when the need arises._**

**SUMMARY**
Incumbents answer emergency and non-emergency telephones, prioritize the calls, and dispatch emergency personnel to crime scenes and calls for service. Incumbents also enter and maintain warrants, property files, and citations.
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

**Entry-level applicants**:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one year high volume, telephone and keyboarding experience. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
**Lateral applicants**:
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and two years experience as a public safety dispatcher in a law enforcement agency. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
**CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS**
Must have or be able to attain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Terminal Operator Certification (TOC), Level A, within six months of hire.
