Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 sub-specialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles.DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. **Responsibilities**

A medical assistant plays a crucial role in healthcare settings, providing both administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operations and quality patient care. Here's a summary of the typical responsibilities:

- Medical Assistant responsibilities include providing a basic level of patient care and treatment. Assists with obtaining vital signs documents chief complaint obtains patient history and provides assistance to physicians residents and/or licensed nursing personnel.
- Alerts physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities.
- Assists providers with wound care.
- Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.
- Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested.
- Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies.
- Performs follow-up actions as directed.
- Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols and clinical protocols.
- Conducts front desk duties as needed (check in, registrations, scheduling appointments).
- Complete full patient registration in IDX when registering new patients.
- Ensure all patient information is updated and current when following up/interacting with patients.
- Verify insurance eligibility and/or benefits.

Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum**:
As related to Medical Assistant: Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients

As related to Orthopedic Tech: Six months related experience required

Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized

Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification - Nat'l

**Preferred**:
Previous MA experience highly prefrerred.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.

Previous experience in designated specialty also preferred.

Bilingual skills preferred.

**Pay Range**
$20.71 - $28.48 /hour
