**Primary Purpose**:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth potential. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education/Certification**:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university

Texas Certified EC-4 or EC-6 Bilingual Generalist or EC-4 or EC-6 Generalist with Bilingual Supplemental Endorsement.

**Special Knowledge and Skills**:
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Sheltered Instruction experience preferred

**Experience**:
At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

Experience in working with Bilingual and ESL students

At least two years of teaching experience

**Working Conditions**:
**Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors**:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Texas Certified EC-4 or EC-6 Bilingual Generalist or EC-4 or EC-6 Generalist with Bilingual Supplemental Endorsement or ESL. Includes Alternative Certification Programs Interns eligible to be hired.
