**Job Summary**
The Lead Technician is responsible for managing and directing a crew of two to three technicians in our lawncare division without supervision of a Foreman or Owner. The lead is responsible for training technicians, assigning tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing projects assigned to their crew. The lead will have weekly meetings with the Foreman and/or Owner about upcoming projects and hold daily meetings with their crew regarding projects. The Lead ensures materials and equipment are available and prepared for their projects and ensures projects assigned to them are completed correctly and efficiently. The Lead can be trusted with more complicated and/or in depth projects and designs.

**General Accountabilities**:

- Labor: The Lead can not only complete these accountabilities individually but can also oversee_
- and train their crew with the following tasks._
- Mowing and trimming lawns.
- Maintains grounds by weeding, water, pruning, blowing, planting, and trimming trees, shrubs, flowers, hedges, and other plants.
- Raking and clearing away debris.
- Mixes and sprays or spreads fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees using proper PPE.
- Operates powered lawn equipment, such as mowers, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, sod cutter, bed edger, and pruning saws.
- Can safely operate all the following: skid steer, excavator, mini excavator, backhoe, tractor, truck and trailer, and dump truck.
- Properly uses tools such as shears, pruners or chain saws.
- Shovel snow and spread salt with machine and by hand.
- Plowing snow.

Leadership: The Lead _will be expected to follow through with the following leadership_
- responsibilities._
- Holds daily crew meeting and attends weekly department meetings.
- Oversees Technicians and Crew Leaders assigned to them and assigns tasks accordingly.
- Makes decisions with the Foreman regarding equipment, vehicles, and tools needed for jobs.
- Can make correct calls in the field if plans change or complications arise on a jobsite with little to no assistance from Foreman/Owner.
- Ensures work assigned to your crew is being completed correctly and efficiently by walking the job site during and at the end of every project.
- Communicates with their crew on their assignment & daily arrival time.
- Resolve work performance problems/concerns among their crew with the support of

Foreman & Owners when necessary.
- Completes performance evaluations of Technicians when requested.
- Trains new technicians.
- Ensures all supplies are on hand for upcoming jobs. Reports low inventory to office staff.
- Manages jobs assigned to their team through Service Autopilot Mobile and has access to

Service Autopilot desktop to see additional information about jobs.
- Reads and understands landscape and hardscape design plans and follows them correctly.
- Supervises safe loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
- Ensures vehicles and equipment are properly put away and properly fueled daily.
- Maintains positive attitude and work relationship with peers.
- Miscellaneous_
- Maintains equipment & vehicles which may include repairs and routine maintenance as needed.
- Maintains, cleans, and organizes shop.
- Reports any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions or repairs to their Foreman and/or Owner.
- Encourages and enforces safe working conditions with crew.
- Adheres to company, state, and federal safety guidelines at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

**Job Qualifications**
- At least 18 years of age.
- 3 years’ experience in lawncare related field required.
- 1 year experience as a crew leader in lawncare related field required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass drug screen upon job offer.
- Successfully complete employment background check upon job offer.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Prior experience preferred.
- Registered Technician license is required.

**Work Environment**
- Outdoor: daily exposure to various weather conditions, including but not limited to very hot or cold temperatures, humidity, rain, sleet, snow, ice, and wind.
- Handles chemicals including fertilizer, insecticides, herbicides, and pesticides.
- Exposure to various plants and landscape materials, dust, common outdoor allergens, and moderate noises.
- Use of safety gear such as eye and hearing protection, safety vests, gloves, and hard hats.
- Frequent changes to work schedule with limited notice is to be expected.
- E
