Safety Manager

Job Overview:
**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA Regulations, ensure the safety and wellbeing of all employees and visitors to the facility.
- Maintenance of the site-specific health and safety policy and procedure manual, and implement the Health and Safety policies for both operational and safety functions
- Will assist in the development and delivery of safety training programs to ensure that the appropriate training is available to all site personnel
- Will conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and develop recommendations for actions to prevent injury recurrence
- Will manage the Transitional Duty/Medical Management program for the location, and support the processing of injured or ill employees through the Workers Compensation System
- Actively promote Health and Safety policies and communicate all policies and procedures to Operations
- Serve as company representative with regulatory inspections related to health and safety.
- Execution of proactive safety activities (audits, inspections) to prevent injuries and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Support contractor management initiatives including prequalification, site induction training, insurance verification, and other oversight of contractor activities on site
- Actively participate in plant-wide, departmental, and tool box meetings
- Adhere to all RWC and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with
regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as CPR, first aid, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and implement solutions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Workers compensation law
- Prepare and submit reports on safety performance metrics.

**Skills**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
- 1year of health and safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environment that includes program administration
- Proficiency in
regulations and standards.
- Experience in developing training programs related to safety.
- Certification in CPR and first aid.
- Knowledge of fabricate techniques for safety equipment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, and DOT Regulations
- Familiarity with Workers compensation law and EHS practices.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively

**Physical Requirements**
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
