**Summary**:This position helps facilitate detoxification and residential services at a drug & alcohol treatment facility by monitoring clients, assessing the client, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. Duties also include meal preparation and light housekeeping.

**Qualifications**:

- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current Registered Alcohol Drug Technician certification
- Must meet requirements for criminal background
- Must have current CPR, First Aid and AED training
- Must complete TB screening and follow-up as needed
- Knowledge of the disease of addiction and self-help groups preferred
- Must have the physical ability to: Lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, do extensive walking, stand and reach while performing housekeeping duties and assisting clients

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Assess clients: Behavioral Health Technician will collect and document client’s current addiction status; take vitals; and obtain client’s medical history. Behavioral Health Technician document client assessments in medical record. Uses established medical record forms, databases, and documentation practices.
- Vitals to be checked and documented upon entry and every 15 minutes throughout the day and night for the first 24 hours, every 30 minutes thereafter during the detox level of care.
- Input client data into electronic health record, including intake data and progress notes.
- Conduct detox house and program orientation with each client, reviewing all guidelines.
- Conduct or assist with client and client belongings searches as necessary.
- Oversee clients’ self-administration of medications. Record medications given, amounts, dates and times taken in medical record.
- Assist in coordinating prescription refills with the pharmacy.
- Cook meals. Wake clients for meals as appropriate. Deliver meals from kitchen as necessary.

**Knowledge & skills**:

- Knowledge of intake, client forms, health assessment policies and procedures
- Knowledge of company’s electronic record program workflow, policies and procedures
- Knowledge and ability to perform CPR, First Aid and AED techniques
- Knowledge of common types of medical emergencies and ability to recognize them and respond according to training and company policies
- Knowledge of fire safety, earthquake safety and hazardous waste procedures, infectious diseases and hand hygiene
- Knowledge of urinalysis and BAC tester procedures

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
