San Francisco, United States Mission Graduates Full time

Mission Graduates increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco's Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education. We work towards fulfilling our mission through a wide range of after-school support services that serve over 1,500 children, youth and families each year. Our vision is to transform the culture of our neighborhood so that college becomes the expectation for Mission families, rather than the exception.

As the lead partner for John O’Connell High Schools College and Career Program, Mission Graduates provides content leadership in college readiness and access. Mission Graduates oversees building a college-going culture and ensuring college readiness at the school through supports and services to the major stakeholders - youth, parents, the school staff, and partners. In addition, campus-wide activities, events, and services are provided to the school community. These efforts occur as part of an embedded interdisciplinary team with the lower division Houses (9th-10th grade), Upper Division Integrated Pathways (11th-12th grade), mentoring programs, and through alumni support services.

Position Overview

The O’Connell College and Career Student Success Coach (SSC) is responsible for working collaboratively within the lower division SCS house, with the College & Career team, and the Mentoring for Success team. The SSC is also responsible for data tracking and program evaluation to ensure the program meets desired programmatic outcomes. The SSC should be a self-motivated individual who knows the Mission community, has a strong social justice analysis, is bilingual in Spanish, and has a passion for working with teens. The SSC will work closely with 9th and 10th graders and their families to support them through the high school transition process. The SSC position requires someone who is highly organized and pays attention to details.
