Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Opening positions: PRN, Part time, SLPA

To qualify, applicants must:

- Hold a bachelor’s from ASHA accredited university
- Have an active state-level licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Have experience working in schools or with children is a plus but not required

**Responsibilities**:

- Implement documented treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Provide clinical treatment to patients including direct treatment, and family/caregiver education regarding status, goals, and progress
- Assist the SLP with speech and language screenings **without **clinical interpretation.
- Consult with supervisor on clients’ progress and maintains appropriate records (i.e. data collection, progress reports)
- Provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.
- Demonstrate or share information with patients, families, and staff regarding safe swallowing strategies, dysphagia, diets and liquids recommendations as instructed by the SLP.
- Coordinate patient care with office staff and other disciplines
- Perform other SLPA duties/responsibilities required by the Program and within the scope of licensure and/or certification
- Ensure all services are performed in accordance with state laws and regulations
- Refer patients and family members to appropriate services including other professionals, agencies, and resources as appropriate
- Exhibit compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
