Overview:
**Purpose Statement/Position Summary**: The Data Engineering Director, under the direction and supervision of the Chief Enterprise Data Officer, is a pivotal role in leading the development and execution of the advanced data engineering portion of the enterprise data strategy. This position will lead the design and implementation of a robust data infrastructure, data ingestion framework, ETL and data model development, and data quality and stewardship programs to support the production of high-value analytic products and services and the broad base of franchised power user groups and researchers. The role demands a visionary data leader who brings an experienced understanding of the challenges of working with healthcare data, deep technical skills, strategic thinking, and effective leadership skills.

**Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience**:
Required:

- 10+ years of experience in healthcare systems, including significant exposure to data management, analytics, and engineering in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, sensitive, and confidential situations with the utmost integrity and professionalism.
- Proactive learner, always seeking to acquire new skills and knowledge relevant to data engineering and healthcare technology trends.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), especially in creating complex charts, graphs, and presentations.
- Deep understanding of various Cloud and Data Analytics platforms (such as Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, Cloudera, AWS, NiFi, Hortonworks) and their inter-operability challenges and solutions.
- Extensive experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, showcasing a deep understanding of their integration, functionality, and data structures within a healthcare setting, and experience in leveraging EHR data for analytics and decision support
- Experience with budget management and resource allocation in a data engineering or IT department.
- Knowledgeable in current data security practices and compliance standards relevant to healthcare, such as HIPAA.

**Education/Licensure/Certification**:
Required:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems or combination of experience and study.

Preferred:

- Additional post-graduate work preferred.
