**Compensation Range: $16-$18/hour**
**Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience**

The **Diet Technician** consults with the Registered Dietitian to ensure implementation of the best standard of nutrition and dietary services. Responsibilities include dietary support, grocery budget allocation, client menu planning, maintaining a clean and well stocked kitchen, cooking and baking as needed, and appropriately discerning between appropriate and inappropriate client eating behaviors. This experience will prepare you to be a Registered Dietitian with hands on experience, learning from dedicated professionals, and working closely with a complex population.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide dietary support, client menu planning, maintenance of a secure and encouraging mealtime, advising on food preparation as necessary, and appropriately discerning between appropriate and inappropriate client eating behaviors
- Consult with the Registered Dietitian to ensure implementation of the best standard of nutrition and dietary services
- Monitor client consumption of appropriate exchange pattern
- Enforce dietary program and advise clients appropriately on food choices
- Ability to lead appropriate and relevant nutrition education groups that are engaging and appropriate
- Ability to implement specific dietary exchange patterns through knowledge of portion size and caloric recommendations set by the Registered Dietitian
**This is a part-time position working Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-8:30 pm.**
**Qualifications**
- Education or relevant experience in the field of nutrition and/or food service preferred
- Must possess a current Driver’s License and be in good standing.
