As a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary medical equipment and supplies to support their health and well-being. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the DME process, from order placement to patient fittings, while providing exceptional customer service and support.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Ordering and Inventory Management**:

- Place orders for durable medical equipment and supplies as per physician prescriptions and patient needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of essential items.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders.

2. **Authorization and Insurance Verification**:

- Obtain authorizations from insurance providers for DME orders.
- Verify insurance benefits and coverage for patients.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies.

3. **Patient Interaction and Education**:

- Interact with patients to explain the use and maintenance of durable medical equipment.
- Assist patients with selecting appropriate equipment based on their needs and preferences.
- Provide ongoing support and education to patients and caregivers.

4. **Billing and Payment Collection**:

- Collect patient responsibilities, including copayments and deductibles, as applicable.
- Ensure accurate billing of DME services and equipment.
- Collaborate with billing department to resolve any billing-related inquiries or concerns.

5. **Patient Fittings and Equipment Setup**:

- Conduct fittings for patients requiring braces or other DME.
- Ensure proper setup and adjustment of equipment to meet patient specifications.
- Address any issues or concerns related to equipment functionality or fit.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of durable medical equipment and related insurance billing processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Certification or licensure in medical assisting or related field preferred.
