Make a difference and work at a non-profit that assists youth and adults in achieving education, skills training, and employment goals Training Resources of America, headquartered in Worcester, is hiring a Worksite Construction Trainer/Supervisor for the YouthBuild program in Worcester. The person in this role is responsible for assisting the Youthbuild students with learning all aspect of the construction/rehab and community service sites of the YouthBuild Program, serving as a role model to participants.
The Worksite Trainer:

- assists in providing training/ supervision to the YB participants, in ensuring OSHA and worksite safety standards are met, and in providing HBI PACT training;
- keeps accurate time records of all participants, ensuring time cards are kept and completed properly and submitted to the Manager on a weekly basis;
- knows the whereabouts of all participants and reports absentees, tardiness and when/ if participants leave site early;
- works closely with other Youthbuild staff and takes directives from the TRA-Worcester Manager as necessary;
- ensures that a professional work environment is evident at all times, and that YB participants are dressed properly for a construction site;
- informs the TRA Manager student issues arise;
- may assist in case management as necessary;
- and performs other duties.**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- This job requires 2-4 years’ experience in the building trades (journeyman level preferred), strong communications skills, and the ability to motivate/ relate to a diverse, multicultural youth population with varying needs/ issues. High school diploma or equivalent required. OSHA certification preferred. The incumbent must demonstrate leadership skills and be a mentor, role model and trainer to YouthBuild participants at all times. The incumbent must also have the ability to work independently as well as with staff in a team approach to achieve overall program goals and to ensure students’ success. Also needs to be knowledgeable of worksite procedures with regard to injuries and safety planning.
