Are you upbeat, energetic, fun, happy, plus an artist?

Looking for teachers to supervise young students and make sure they learn and have fun. Our motto is, "We Teach Coolness through lessons in Kindness and Confidence." Our program is different from other programs as we teach daily classes in the arts and have low teacher/student ratios. Our schedule is rigorous, so the hours go by fast. One of the big differences in our after-school program is that we offer rewards for random acts of kindness and participation. Our kids are motivated to be kind and it creates a peaceful happy world for staff and kids alike to enjoy our days.

What do teachers do? The most important out of all teacher duties is to ensure students are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring they don’t get lost or hurt. The job duties include co-creating a schedule of games, art, theatre, dance, yoga and fitness classes. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of our teachers. If you’re patient, upbeat but strict when needed, we’d like to meet you.

Hours are from 2-530 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; Wednesday 12-530

Pay rate for teachers is $16-$22 hourly DOE

10 month school year, contract with possiblity of Summer camp hire

**Responsibilities**
- Be part of a team that leads recreational and educational activities (art, theatre, dance, yoga, fitness and homework club)
- Oversee the safety of children
- Lead different art, theatre, dance, yoga, sign language or sports activities, depending on employees skill set
- Educate students through games, social skill exercises and explorations
- Assist with primary grades with homework
- Help set-up and maintain room, equipment, grounds
- Willingness to learn and implement a new way of dealing with behaviors

**Skills**
- Experience working with children preferred
- Familiarity with the arts and athletics preferred
- Patient, upbeat, positive and reliable
- Organizational and communication skills
- Energetic and positive personality (this is huge as you must be positive and upbeat when working with children
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Must be First aid
- and CPR-certified or willing to get prior to first day of work
- High school diploma
- Willing to get a background checked and TB tested for the school district

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 19.5 per week
