**Position Title: Matching Grant/Employment Case Manager**

**Reports to: Program Manager**

**Basic Functions**:
The **Matching Grant Case Manager** is responsible for providing employment assessment, job counseling, job development and placement, employment-related translation and interpretation services, and case management to eligible clients in the Matching Grant Program.

**Major Responsibilities**:
1. An in-depth understanding of refugee/immigrant issues and how they affect employment.

2. In coordination with other MG Case Managers and Job Counselors, provide employment orientation to newly enrolled MG clients. Provide individualized job development and job placement services to program participants. Develop plan of action and counsel clients in areas such as job interview skills, expected behavior on the job, and proper hygiene.

3. Identify specific needs and qualifications, including English language ability, transferable job skills, personal objectives, and barriers to employment through intake and assessment process. Work with client to prepare job resume based on intake and assessment. Work with clients to remove any barriers to employment and realize the goal of family self-sufficiency.

4. Develop individualized Employability assessment and Employment plan for all refugee clients aged 18-60.

6. Follow up with client and employer within 2 weeks of job placement. Provide ongoing employment services for 6 months after arrival. Coordinate job search with volunteers, clients’ family members or sponsors; and perform all duties in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.

7. Record clients’ progress in case file. Complete all required reports.

8. Assist clients in identifying training and apprenticeship programs related to their career goals and makes referrals. Identifies other support services that may assist clients in becoming self-sufficient, such as classes for English as a Second Language, transportation, immigration services, and childcare, and makes appropriate referrals.

9. Keep informed about refugee and immigrant issues, and available services to refugees, using current information to better identify and serve refugee clients. Advocate on behalf of refugees, and refugee-serving voluntary agencies. Represent the program at meetings and speaking engagements relevant to the responsibilities of the position.

10. Participate in cross-cultural sensitivity training to employers working with members of the target population. Participates in local seminars, job fairs and other relevant meetings. Attend and complete ECDC Online Database training and webinars. AttendECDC National Training at ECDC headquarters as required.

11. Makes frequent outside contacts with employers and training institutions to keep abreast of changes in the labor market, employment, and training opportunities; and seek out potential employment opportunities for clients; Interprets agency policies, eligibility requirements and services to individual clients and community groups.Research employment opportunities from time to time using various and appropriate strategies.

13. Prepare required reports on time and maintains client records as required by the agency.

14. Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

**Qualifications**:

- At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in social work, social sciences, or any related discipline is required with sound experience of case management and working with refugee populations. A Master’s degree with relevant experience of case management services is preferred. At least 1-year customer service or professional office experience is a minimum requirement.
- An in-depth knowledge and familiarity with the refugee resettlement process and demonstrable practical experience of working in refugee resettlement service is required.
- The position also requires a proven ability to manage a staff of volunteers creatively and skillfully; and a demonstrable ability to instill teamwork.
- Possession of proven computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Skill of

Pay: $43,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
