Sprayer Basic-ca

**JOB SUMMARY**: Performs work as a sprayer in the Finishing Department by performing the following duties:

- Inspects sanded material for smoothness and ensures masking tape is applied correctly over parts and areas that are not to be painted.
- Makes minor repairs to attain smooth surface.
- May perform one of the three functions of a sprayer as listed:

- Stainer - Stains cabinets using appropriate stain color.
- Sealer - Applies sealer or finish coat to cabinet.
- Topcoat Finisher - Applies high gloss or satin to stained and sealed cabinets.
- Assures that rules and regulations on housekeeping and safety practices are observed.
- Transfers from one task to another where demands require worker, with varied experience and ability, to work without close supervision.
- Performs other duties assigned.

**KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION**:

- Knowledge of various paint, stains, primers, and high Gloss or satin finish.
- Knowledgeable of stain colors.
- Ability to observe and make work adjustments to complete projects.
- Ability to use proper tools of the trade.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to deal effectively with others.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
