**Description**:
**We expect our team members to help exceptional standards of service. The Veterinary Receptionist must be friendly and possess a positive attitude - as the receptionist is often the first contact when visiting or calling the clinic. He/she must treat clients with the utmost respect at all times. He/she must also be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, computer proficient, and have the ability to multi-task under pressure.**
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Customer service, customer service, customer service**:
- **Maintain professionalism and contribute to a high standard of service.**:
- **Ability to prioritize and promote what is best for the business of the Hospital.**:
- **Work compassionately and patiently with clients in various emotional states.**:
- **Provide compassionate care to patients.**:
- **Schedule appointments and procedures.**:
- **Check-in patients, monitor client flow, discharge patients.**:
- **Manage record requests from other hospitals, boarding/grooming facilities, and specialty practices.**:
- **Process medications requests.**:
- **Assist in cleaning chores, such as: keeping reception desk area and lobby tidy and sanitary, taking out trash, cleaning floors and bathrooms.**:
- **Process payment transactions.**:
- **Help maintain electronic medical documents.**:
- **Prepare health certificates, vaccination certificates, and euthanasia certificates.**:
- **Outline costs and fees in a positive light while supporting hospital policies.**:
- **Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds as well as sit or stand for extended periods of time.**
**Qualifications**:
- **At least one year of customer service related experience.**
**In short, the Veterinary Receptionist should understand the importance of clear communication with clients as well as colleagues, possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills, willing to work as a team to obtain a positive work environment, ability to maintain a positive attitude while multi-tasking and fostering client bonding. Punctuality is a must. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.**
