The Division of Juvenile Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Youth Counselor position. This position is based out of the GROW Academy located at 4986 County HWY M Oregon, WI.

Position Summary

This position provides counseling and performs security and safety duties in a juvenile school. Supervise juvenile offenders on all shifts to ensure the security of the school, school property and the safety and security of staff, offenders and the public inside and outside the school when offenders are engaged in approved off-grounds activities; assure that the physical needs of assigned offenders are maintained in the areas of food, clothing and general health; provide case management assistance and other treatment services to youths; and maintain order and discipline within the school. This position may require physical intervention with assaultive and/or aggressive offenders.
Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 05-31 with pay starting of $33 per hour.
Pay rates on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Remote work options not available for these positions.
Job Details

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

**Qualifications**:
At least 18 years of age upon appointment
No felony convictions without a pardon
No domestic violence convictions
Pass a drug test
Requires ability to work overtime
High school diploma or equivalent
A qualified applicant will ensure the order, safety and security of juvenile offenders, staff and the institution. Supervise the offenders in life skills and daily activities. Provide counseling and treatment services of offenders.
