Weight Room Attendant

**Job Overview**

Weighs out specified quantities of materials for use in production processes, using balance, platform, or floor scales: places material on scales and adds or removes weighed material in containers for delivery to processing department, and records amount of weight.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Follows work instructions **WI005,** _Weighing Raw Materials for Manufacturing_.
- Checks area, scales and utensils to make sure they are clean, sanitary and ready for operation. Maintains clean and orderly work area during processing to prevent contamination.
- Locates material to be weighed in staging area and moves material to work area.
- Checks name, code, and lot number of each material against the worksheet to verify that it is correct. Have a second person verify weight and identity of each material
- Maintains appropriate material/product identification during processing to prevent mix-up.
- Assembles all weighed materials for each product lot in pallet appropriately unidentified. Moves pallet to designated staging area for further processing.
- Removes all leftover materials from work area and discards all empty containers before starting anew order. Documents cleaning performed in the logbook.
- Removes labels or obliterated identification from an empty container that may be reused including containers used for garbage.
- Properly secures any leftover materials and makes sure they are properly identified before putting back to appropriate storage area.
- Follows company policies, safety guidelines/procedures.
- Establishes good communication lines with supervisors and co-workers to ensure high productivity, product quality and regulatory compliance.

Pay: From $16.78 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift
