Warehouse Packer

Whale Supply is an eCommerce distributor of business and industrial supplies based in Chicago. We are an entrepreneurial, growth minded business focused on supporting business’s supply needs and backed by more than 20 years in the digital distribution space. We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and reliable to join our team.

**Primary Role & Responsibilities**:

- Pay close attention to detail and pick, pack, ship customer orders without delay.
- Ensure that the daily needs of the warehouse operations are met.
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.
- Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received.
- Inspect incoming material for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor or purchasing personnel.
- Complete inventory audits and identifying trends.
- Organize warehouse space and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

**Salary & Benefits**:

- Non-Exempt Hourly Position with hourly rate of $17.00 - $19.00 based on experience

**Qualifications**:

- High school or equivalent (required)
- Experience (3 years preferred) working in a warehouse pick, pack and ship operation
- Experience in a retail/warehouse/store environment, i.e. Target, Michaels is a preferred
- Able to lift/move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. and walk around the warehouse.
- Experience with Forklift/loaders/power jacks is required as the product is not heavy duty and located on easy access shelves.
- Experience working with software to manage product locations, and shipping tracking is a plus
- Experience in working with “ShipStation”, UPS and USPS is a plus
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Able to pass a drug test and criminal background check

**Skills & Physical Requirements**:

- Attention to detail is a MUST.
- Excellent attendance and reliability are a MUST.
- Must be able to traverse the warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with manager and other team members.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
