The Facilities Maintenance Director is responsible for assisting Peace Lutheran Church in fulfilling its mission by managing and caring for the church's property and facilities. This is a part time position ranging from 20 to 24 hours per week. This position reports to the Ministry Council and the Head Pastor.

**Job Description**:
Respond to maintenance requests from church staff

Regularly inspect church premises for areas of need or concern.

Work with staff, committees, and work teams in managing church facilities and grounds.

Develop an inspection schedule and maintenance plan for the church facilities and grounds, including a preventative maintenance schedule.

Supervise and direct custodial staff and any work being done by volunteer or external vendor groups.

When needed, contact applicable outside vendors to facilitate repairs, ensuring competitive and fair pricing.

Review and approve outside vendor invoices for submission to office staff.

Coordinate the maintenance of plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems (including making minor repairs) and supervise the involvement of volunteer or commercial vendors for major repairs or replacements.

Ensure that exterior grounds are maintained and that snow removal is conducted as needed.

Maintain an appropriate inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.

Schedule, and coordinate with church staff, any major cleaning projects.

Work with various agencies to assure that the facilities meet current code requirements.

Organize and maintain maintenance records for the building, a contact list of vendors, and an annual schedule maintenance checklist.

Attend and contribute to church staff meetings as needed.

Required:
A prior history of steady, consistent work experience.

Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm systems, etc.)

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week
