**POSITION PURPOSE**- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Department Technician provides patient care for all patients throughout the lifespan.-
**MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED**- High School plus specialized training (6 mons-2 yrs)-
**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**- 1 to 3 years-
**LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED**- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.-
- Must be competent to obtain and process EKG’s per Cardiology protocols within 6 months of hire.-
- Current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) basic licensure, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Medical Assistant (MA).-
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED**- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.-
**PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES**- Performs technical skills under the supervision of the Emergency Department physicians and RNs for all patients throughout the lifespan.-
- Assists medical and nursing staff with patient data collections, patient care, clerical duties and documents/communicates appropriately.-
- Assists with facilitating interdepartmental and inter-hospital patient transfers as well as patient transfers between the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers and the Emergency Department.Location: Froedtert South, Inc. - EMERGENCY DEPT
