Texas Music Incubator Program Specialist - Austin, Texas

The Office of the Governor is looking for a Texas Music Incubator Program Specialist (Program Specialist IV) to work in the Economic Development and Tourism Office - Texas Music Office.

What You’ll Earn

The salary is $5,416.67 - $5,833.34 a month ($65,000.04 - $70,000.08 a year).

What You’ll Do

This is a job that performs highly complex (senior level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing program outreach, management, and training; and analyzing performance data to determine the efficacy of The Texas Music Incubator Program. Works collaboratively to execute program strategies, goals, and responsibilities.
- Performs an array of technical, training, research, planning, program assessment, and administrative activities related to the Texas Music Incubator Program.
- Conducts training and provides guidance to OOG staff, government agencies, community organizations and the public to provide assistance on TMO resources and its programs.
- Markets the Texas Music Incubator Program to venues, music festival promoters and professional groups to encourage and stimulate participation in the program, traveling or otherwise communicating as needed to ensure effective outreach.
- Responds to requests for Texas Music Incubator training, programming, and certification by collecting, organizing and/or preparing information needed to determine a user’s qualification and needs then fully executing the program from registration to final wrap-up.
- Coordinates and conducts surveys and/or reviews to determine compliance with program certification requirements, policies, and procedures, while ensuring adherence to relevant city, state, and federal guidelines.
- Coordinates and collaborates with others to analyze, recommend, design, and edit program materials.
- Coordinates and collaborates in the planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of TMO initiatives, providing regular status reports and monitoring program performance, as directed.
- Monitors and reports on program performance measures, assisting with the establishment of program goals.
- Works with potential and established program partners to collect and share best practices.
- Organizes and maintains the Texas Music Incubator program and effectively tracks and communicates with participants throughout the process.
- Develops, coordinates, and maintains web content associated with the Texas Music Incubator program.
- Advises venues, promoters, and related parties on all aspects of music as a business in Texas, strategizing as needed on how to increase monetization of their assets.
- Maintains effective and ethical business relationships with Texas-based music professionals and provides expert guidance to those new to the music industry.
- Represents the TMO at music industry events, conferences, trade shows or other events, as needed.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to internal and external audiences.
- Remains well-informed of division and OOG initiatives, operations, new releases, web content, programs, statewide trends, OOG policies and procedures.
- Provides exceptional internal and external customer service.
- Responds to constituents regarding the TMO and other general Texas music industry inquiries.
- Contributes to a variety of TMO initiatives, as directed, and assists in maintaining databases.
- Compiles, drafts and/or edits reports and briefing documents, as requested.

How You’ll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Four (4) years of professional experience in program management.

Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis

You’re a Great Fit with
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business, accounting, music, marketing, or related field;
- Basic understanding of music venues, contracts, permits, and sales tax; and
- Bilingual in Spanish.
