**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
**Job Summary**:

- Provides patient related care in accordance with department standards, provides nutrition education materials to patients/families and Nutrition Services staff, maintains and processes accurate nutrition/diet order information.
- Performs nutritional screening according to facility standards.
- Monitors patients nutritional status according to facility standards.
- Completes patient requests and resolves patient issues/complaints.
- Provides nutrition-related education materials to patients/family.
- Inservices department staff on nutrition-related topics.
- Interprets diet orders accurately.
- Make all changes resulting from diet changes and patient location changes to assure patients receive correct meals.
- Corrects and modifies patient menus according to diet order, preferences and special needs.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Certification as a registered diet technician bo the Commission on Dietic Registration.
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Food and Nutrition.
- Registered Diet Technician
- Ability to: Read and write English, write legibly, pay meticulous attention to detail, communicate and work well with department staff and members of the healthcare team, work with mínimal supervision, be flexible.
- Knowledge of diet therapy, nutrition, medical terminology and principles of education, foodservice sanitation.

**Pay Range**
$33.87 - $38.43 /hour
