San Francisco Bay Aggregates is a cleantech start-up company located in Pittsburg, California, that is developing technology, products and services related to economically sustainable carbon capture and mineralization, whereby carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) gas from point source emitters is permanently sequestered as solid carbonate in building materials for beneficial reuse, specifically as aggregate for concrete.

San Francisco Bay Aggregates is seeking a Research Technician to join its R&D team in
Pittsburg, to work with and to support scientific staff in their day-to-day research efforts.
Responsibilities will include:

- Using good laboratory practice to document and keep well-ordered record(s) of data
- Performing relatively simple procedures with routine assignments, and receiving training in specific skilled procedures
- Performing and following established SOPs and other standard protocols
- Collaborating closely with other Technicians, Research Associates & Scientists
- Carrying out lab procedures such as weighing, pipetting, preparing chemical solutions, and recording data from analytical equipment
- Operating, calibrating and maintaining instrumentation, as appropriate
- Basic lab manager responsibilities, such as keeping supplies in stock and organized
- Depending on background, experience & career goals, characterizing different types of samples on any of the following instruments: ion chromatography, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), loss on ignition, elemental analyses by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), pH and conductivity measurements, autotitrators, dissolved inorganic & total carbon analysis, solar reflectometer, particle size analyzer, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), etc.
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience
- Experience in a wet lab environment
- High attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and show flexibility with changes
- Proactive attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal direction
- Experience operating, calibrating, and/or maintaining analytical instruments is a plus
- Ability to perform data analysis & communication of results to colleagues is a plus

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
