**General Description**

In alignment with the Boys Hope Girls Hope mission and values and under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the Program including the Community-Based (Academy) and post-secondary Programs.

**Experience & Skills Required**
- 10+ years' experience and proven track record of leading well-performing teams
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Education, Nonprofit leadership or related field required
- Fluency in English and Spanish highly preferred; proven ability to navigate language barriers
- Proven skills in problem solving, staff supervision, and the ability to develop, communicate and execute strategic program planning. Ability to prioritize and manage various activities and calendars
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with various and diverse members of our community
- Experience with youth development, college access, out of school time or residential programs
- Professional appearance, attitude and representation of BHGH necessary at all times
- Demonstrated experience in building and stewarding effective community relationships
- Must have valid AZ driver’s license and ability to complete errands including lifting/transporting in-kind donations up to 40 pounds.
- Must pass state, federal background checks and other screening required for working with youth

**Specific Duties**
- **Staff Recruitment, Training, Development and Evaluation**:

- Hire, train, coach and evaluate Program Staff for effective and competent service delivery according to BHGH quality standards. Ensures meaningful goals are developed and achieved by staff. Provides opportunities for growth and learning. Facilitates internal and external training opportunities. Evaluates and recommends sustainable program staffing models. Cultivates productive and positive team working environment.
- Develop and lead culturally responsive staff and delivery of culturally fluent services. In partnership with the Executive Director, evaluate and deliver services, family engagement, school and community partnerships that support BHGH Cultural Fluency goals. Monitor and track program progress in Cultural Fluency. Lead and engage others in this work.
- In coordination with other staff, identify and develop meaningful volunteer roles that support scholar service delivery, program and facility needs. Provide meaningful stewardship and engagement of program volunteers.
- **Program Services**:

- Oversee all aspects of program services on a daily basis which includes but is not limited to: Academy/Learning Center activities, academic counseling and tutoring, school advocacy and communication, social-emotional and mental health services, character and life-skills development, spiritual growth programming, crisis management, parent engagement, service planning and goal progress meetings. Leads development of alumni programming and support with the College Success Manager.
- Lead all initiatives of the affiliate in line with BHGH Network best practices of child safeguarding to ensure a safe and nurturing program environment, the prevention of child abuse, and the appropriate detection, reporting, and management of suspicions, allegations, or incidents of boundary violations or abuse.
- Ensure adequate coverage and staffing and provide coverage as needed.
- Coordinate and oversees exemplary care and upkeep of BHGH property and vehicles. Works with Executive Director to ensure program has adequate resources. Develops and maintains quality community and school partnerships.
- Provide recommendations and input to develop the Program Budget and ensure cost containment according to the budget.
- In coordination with the Executive Director, strategically positions the organization for growth and expansion. Regularly reviews program data for effectiveness and decision making about program services.
- With support from Director of Monitoring & Support Services, develop and report on key performance indicators, program outcomes and results. Prepare informative reports for the agency, board of directors and community. Use data to inform program planning.
- Review, update and train program and other BHGH staff on program curriculum, services, and calendar. Ensure effective scholar participation in My Road, the BHGH signature whole-person development curriculum, and other network-wide and local programming. With input from staff conduct annual program planning that supports the BHGH five development pillars (personal development, academics and empowered learning, college and career preparation, life skills, and leadership and service).
