**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN THIS ROLE**:
In support of and in collaboration with the Associate Director, Editorial, build and implement an annual editorial strategy for digital publications and e-newsletters. In this role the Supervisor, Editorial will also partner with the Associate Director, Publications and Art Director on creative direction of publications.

The Supervisor, Editorial will support the Associate Director, Publications in leading all aspects of print and digital production including supervising editorial production of Annual Reports, editorial boards and ensuring that publication content accurately reflects and supports organizational strategy. This individual will assign, direct and edit initial articles and story drafts, and will supervise the day to day activities of staff and freelance writers for print publications and e-publications.

In leading the editorial meetings with the publications team, and with key partners across the organization, including faculty, medical network, Marketing and Communications, one must have strong communication skills and the ability to guide and influence partners to generate content for Cedars-Sinai publications, including Discoveries and Cedars-Sinai magazine. Supervising the digital editorial operations for magazines and newsletters, and effectively managing the meetings and taking the leading role in shaping pitches and editing them is an integral part of this role in order to create viable stories for Discoveries, Cedars-Sinai, and Embracing Our Community publications. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Collaborates with Associate Director, Editorial, on editorial and creative direction of all Cedars-Sinai publications.
- Generates content for Cedars-Sinai publications, including Annual Reports, print newsletters, Discoveries and Cedars-Sinai magazines.
- Screens, interviews, hires and supervises multiple writers (including freelance and per diem) for print publications and e-publications; assigns, directs and edits initial articles and story drafts; coaches and manages staff and freelancers on their day to day activities.
- Supports the building and implementation of an annual strategy for digital publications and e-newsletters.
- Supervises digital editorial operations for magazines and newsletters, including Discoveries, Cedars-Sinai, Embracing Our Community.
- Takes a leading role in shaping pitches and editing them into viable stories.
- Leads editorial meetings with publications team and with key partners across the organization, including faculty, medical network, Marketing and Communications.
- Engages editorial boards and ensures that publication content accurately reflects and supports organizational strategy.
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative work flow and content integration with digital and social teams that ensures an integrated, seamless reader journey.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, publications, marketing, philosophy, ecology & evolutionary biology or another relevant major is required.
- A minimum of seven years' experience as a Publications Editor, Editorial Production and guiding/directing writers required.
