The Metro Group, Inc., located in Long Island City, NY is currently looking for an Inventory Support/ Runner for their Mechanical Division. This is a full-time, union-track position with full benefits.

This role functions in managing and distributing material inventory and also delivering materials related to any HVAC systems to teams in the NYC area.

Qualifications include basic experience plus:

- Experience driving a Box Truck
- General knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, HVAC parts and materials
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Capable of taking direction
- Agreeable and self-motivated attitude, able to take initiative
- Able to work and adapt in a flexible, high-paced work environment
- Enthusiastic in taking on assignments and responsibilities, willingness to learn
- Detail oriented, taking pride in work with a focus on quality
- Capable of working in a professional environment and providing great customer service
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures
- Ability to meet physical requirements of position
- Available for Overtime
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED

Applicable industry training and certifications are preferred but not required: OSHA 30, Certified, F60, etc. Please note training and certifications on your resume when applying.

Additional responsibilities will include:

- Managing and distributing material inventory
- Driving a company vehicle
- Lifting tools, materials, and equipment
- Performing other miscellaneous tasks to support the operation, when needed. For example, assisting on job sites.
