Procurement Specialist for Solar Manufacturing Plant

**Overview**

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Specialist to ensure our facility is accurately stocked in a timely fashion with all appropriate needs to allow for uninterrupted manufacturing.

**Responsibilities**
- Supplier management: Assist with identifying and evaluating suitable suppliers. Maintain regular contact with long-term suppliers to bolster the relationship. Assist in evaluating supplies to ensure they meet company standards and pricing requirements.
- Material planning: Follow established purchasing plan according to company production plan and requirements. Follow up with suppliers to make sure raw materials are provided on time.
- Purchase price negotiation: Work with suppliers to find cost savings and identify/qualify for promotion opportunities.
- Purchase order (PO) management: Follow-up on purchase orders, including order confirmation and PO progress. Follow up and coordinate delivery times.
- Material management: Assist in the management of product stock, by helping to provide cycle counts and coordinating scrap and scrap disposal.
- Quality management: Monitor delivered materials to ensure they meet company standards and requirements.
- Supply chain coordination: Coordinate product logistics, as needed.
- Cost control: Find ways to control purchasing costs on raw materials, product price, transportation cost, duties, taxes, and setup costs.
- Data analysis and reporting: Pull regular and ad-hoc reports for management including purchasing and supply chain data.
- Complete any other tasks as assigned by management.

**Required Education/Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university in business administration, supply chain management, or other related degree/programs
- Fluency in English. Bi-lingual in Chinese (Mandarin) language helpful.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Procurment Specialist or a similar role.
- PV solar industry experience preferred.
- Understanding and knowledge of Texas sales and use tax exemption and W-9 forms required.

**Competencies**
- Acceptable level of proficiency in communication to collaborate effectively with coworkers and vendors.
- Capacity to quickly learn required skills, such as basic office equipment and selected company software programs.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret complex figures and text.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse clientele.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a team player.

**Work Environment**

The work environment for the position includes enclosed offices and workshop production floor.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands of the position include walking, standing, reaching, and sitting, on a regular basis; ability to speak and hear; ability to visually detect product color and shading variation; lifting objects from one level to another; entering text or data via keyboard into a computer; seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands; ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or sounds.
