**Gallery Manager Job Description**

**Part-time 15-20 hours per week ** **Range: $20-25 per hour**

**Position Overview**: We are seeking a creative Gallery Manager to collaborate with our organization's dynamic team of professionals and volunteers to expand our existing programs. The Gallery Manager’s primary role is to curate, organize, and promote art exhibitions and events that align with ALRI’s mission.
A critical element of this position is to cultivate relationships with local artists, curators, collectors, volunteers, and community organizations to grow collaboration and partnership opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with the Exhibition Committee on national Calls for Art and other exhibitions
- Establish and maintain a database of accepted artwork for each exhibition.
- Develop and administer a checklist for exhibitions including individual assigned tasks.
- Safeguard artwork inventory, handling, storage, and transportation
- Arrange the setup and removal of artwork, including equipment needed.
- Coordinate artists, volunteers, and Exhibition Committee to ensure a successful exhibition
- Participate in promotional efforts, press releases, social media content, and newsletters.
- Foster an atmosphere that encourages interaction between artists, visitors, and the community.
- Organize guided tours for the public, artist talks, workshops, and educational programs.
- Maintain accurate records of artwork, sales, gallery expenses, and activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in art history, Fine Arts, Arts Management, or a related field
- Previous experience in art gallery management, curation, or related roles is desirable
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art trends, artists, and art movements
- Passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and basic graphic design tools
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of multitasking
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
