**Title**: Histologist
- Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital
- Location: Tampa, FL
- Status: Full time
- Shift Hours: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
- Weekend Work: Occasional
- On Call: No

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide including special stains and techniques
- Maintains all files, records, and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards
- Cleans and maintains equipment and instruments
- Stocks and maintains supplies
- Must possess interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrates organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills
- Works both independently and with a team
- Possess computer skills appropriate to position
- Uses and understands medical terminology
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Certification & Licensure**:

- Required - Histology
- Preferred - ASCP

**Education**:

- Required - High School of Equivalent
- Preferred - Technical Degree in Histotechnology
- Preferred - Associates in Related Field

**Experience**:

- Preferred - 1 Year Laboratory Related
