Sunset Logistics is a company with decades of experience in local trucking and logistics with a high commitment to our customer service as well as care for our employees. Sunset Logistics is currently looking for an individual to fill the Tire Repair Technician on our P.M. shift: Monday through Friday: 10:00 AM-6:30PM and every other Saturday: 7:00AM-Noon, or as needed.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide tire and rim maintenance, including mounting, dismounting, small repair, airing and spray painting rims/wheels
- Ensure all lug nuts are torqued to specifications
- Community with shop coordinator in regard to parts and supply orders
- Be fully committed to safety programs and initiatives
- Report to Mechanic Lead and Fleet Manager if necessary, on purchase requirements and maintenance issues

**Performance Expectations**:

- Work in a safe environment and maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA & MSHA
- Check any and all vehicles coming into repair shop for correct air pressure
- Ability to communicate with mechanic lead and shop coordinator

**Position Requirements**:

- 3-5 years of experience, skills and knowledge in mounting & dismounting tires on trucks and trailers
- 3-5 years of experience, skills and knowledge in tire repair
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, climb, reach, lie on back
- Must be able to work while standing, lying on back, bending over, reaching overhead for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform tasks in inclement weather
- Ability to lift 100 lbs


**Working Conditions**:

- Noise level in the work environment can vary.
- May potentially be exposed to battery acid, gasoline, diesel fuel, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered hazardous.
- Can be exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles
- Required to wear PPE including but not limited to; safety glasses, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and safety toed footwear.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to Relocate:

- Crystal Lake, IL: Relocate before starting work (required)
