**Position Overview**
- FACES SF is seeking a Temporary Paraprofessional to support children who have additional learning needs over the summer months. The children may have a disability, health issue, behavioral issue, or difficult external circumstances that make classroom learning more challenging. The Temporary Paraprofessional’s role is to support students by monitoring their safety, self-management, and overall behavior in the classroom and may also help the teacher with maintaining a good classroom environment in general.

The Temporary Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of the Inclusion Manager and with the Inclusion Team including the assigned teacher and Inclusion Specialist. The successful applicant will have availability to work 60% to FT; June 10 to August 9, 2024.

**What You’ll Do**- Assists in the direct supervision of individual or small groups in the assigned classroom as directed by the teacher or Inclusion Manager for the purpose of demonstrating appropriate social behavior in a culturally sensitive manner.-
- Monitors student’s daily schedule and behavior plan (e.g. class schedule, toileting, medication, appetite, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.-
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of his/her work with special education children and other staff-
- Communicates with teachers and other FACES SF staff for the purpose of assisting in evaluating progress and/or implementing IFSP/IEP objectives.-
- Demonstrates flexibility in schedule and activities throughout the day; openness for growth and willingness to contribute in a team approach-
- Implements under the supervision of the assigned teacher, behavioral plans designed by the Inclusion Team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.-
- Models conversation, manners, clean up activities, listening, and everyday interactions-
- Performs other duties as may be directed by the Inclusion Manager and/or assigned teacher.**Qualifications**
- You have a solid mix of the following knowledge, ability, skills and experience:
- At least two years of experience working with preschool-age children-
- Knowledge of child development and children with special needs, including behavioral and emotional issues-
- Commitment to working with families from marginalized communities-
- Effective and compassionate communication and interpersonal skills; Bilingual a plus-
- Ability to work cooperatively and independently with initiative and enthusiasm-
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential mannerAbility to meet required state, federal, local, and CDC standards (including but not limited to fingerprint clearance, negative TB test, First Aid, CPR)-
