School Substitute Teacher

Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School seeks a talented substitute teacher. We are looking for culturally competent candidates that possess experience working as educators in diverse schools with English Language Learners and students with IEPs and 504 plans. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with other staff, families, and students as a founding teacher at an innovative charter public school in the city of Worcester. We welcome candidates to apply who reflect the cultural diversity of the Worcester community.School Nurse Qualifications Current DESE licensure as a school nurse (preferred but not required) Licensure as an RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Current certification for CPR and AED by the American Heart Association as a Health ProviderQualificationsMust hold an associates degree (or higher)Knowledge of the subject(s) or age group being taught and the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.Experience using Microsoft and Google applicationsResponsibilitiesProvide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absentReview and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectivesEstablish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environmentReport any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administrationExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong organization skills and attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work with children in developmentally appropriate and kind waysSupervise students in classrooms, halls, lunch area, and any area considered school grounds.Provide extra assistance to students with special needs, such as non-English-speaking students or those with physical and learning disabilities.Assist in bus loading and unloading.Records attendance in accordance with school procedures; ensuring students are always attended to and not left without supervision.Perform all other duties as directed by school administration
