**Summary**

The Youth Specialist Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and guiding the team of Youth Specialists. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and development of the children in our care by providing effective supervision, mentorship, and support to the front-line staff. Supervisors collaborate with other departments and leadership to maintain a safe, enriching, and therapeutic environment for youth residents.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Leadership**:

- Provide direct supervision and support to Youth Specialists, including regular performance feedback and evaluations.
- Serve as a mentor, role model, and resource for the team, promoting a positive work culture and professional growth.
- Coordinate staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and maintain a safe staff-to-resident ratio.
- Inspect facility to ensure assigned staff complete tasks in accordance with standards and acceptable program practice.
- **Quality Care and Treatment**:

- Oversee the implementation of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring alignment with treatment goals.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of emergency and non-emergency behavioral interventions and strategies, adjusting as needed.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to address behavioral challenges and ensure consistent care.
- **Training and Professional Development**:

- Coordinate and deliver training for Youth Specialist on topics such as trauma-informed care, behavior management, and crisis intervention.
- Identify and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- **Communication and Collaboration**:

- Communicate effectively with other supervisors, administrators, and departments to ensure a cohesive approach to youth care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to provide insights into individual youth progress and staff observations.
- Conduct shift briefings and relay pertinent information from management to staff as needed.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Review and approve documentation completed by Youth Specialists, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
- Prepare reports and summaries on youth progress, staff performance, and incidents as required by leadership.
- **Emergency Preparedness**:

- Assist in developing and reviewing emergency protocols and procedures for staff and youth.
- Participate in and lead emergency drills to ensure staff readiness for crisis situations.
- Respond to emergency calls and situations regarding staff and/or youth.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices.
- Monitor trends and challenges within the residential setting and propose innovative solutions.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or its equivalent required.
- Experience in a supervisory role within a residential treatment or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and support staff.
- Proficiency in trauma-informed care, behavior management, and therapeutic interventions.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and licensing requirements in the residential care field.
- Ability to handle stressful and challenging situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Completion of background checks and training as required by state regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license
- Flexible with scheduling with the ability to work mandatory overtime or up to 16 hours within a 24-hour period, if necessary
- Available for emergency calls 24/7 as this is a 24-hour facility.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
