Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to join our team. The Program Assistant will play a crucial role in providing the pathways for residents to lead intentional lives by planning, supervising and executing the programs that define the Cordia experience. The Program Assistant partners with the Program Director to ensure that each day is a day of discovery, enrichment and fulfillment for all community residents.

The Program Assistant is committed to developing programs that appeal to a majority of residents, as well as those that fulfill the special interests of as few as one resident at a time, the Program team seeks to engage all residents with the five elements of the Program curriculum - programs that enrich the intellectual and spiritual life of the community, that assist in assuring physical and emotional balance, while broadening the cultural connections for every resident. Given Cordia’s mission and vision no single job in the community is more important than this pivotal role.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
**Program Development and Delivery**
- Assist in the creation and deliver of high quality programs spanning the 5 areas of meaningful life: physical, emotional, emotional, social and cultural, with particular emphasis on programming for Assisted Living residents.
- Coordinate many of the operational aspects of program delivery including, but not limited to, developing flyers, publicizing upcoming events, coordinating ticket purchases, arranging transportation, booking speakers and musical guests and the like.
- Coordinate and deliver many of the logístical components of program delivery including, but not limited to, room set-up for program, audio visual management, guest speaker/artist management, member transportation and the like.
- Help with the integration of new residents into the overall community lifestyle and into program participation specifically.
- Ensure that all residents are aware of the opportunities offered by the program curriculum and feel welcome at every event, with particular emphasis on the Assisted Living residents.
- Encourage residents’ personal interests and development to optimize individual wellness.
- Planning and facilitating daily, weekly and monthly events to encourage engagement in the Cordia’s 5 areas of Wellness, with particular emphasis on programming for those with special needs.
- Assist the Program Director in all aspects of event and outing planning including phone calls, advertising, managing to the assigned budget, help coordinate transportation, and provide instructions and support to residents for successful participation.
- Involve residents’ family members in the programs offered to residents;
- Ensure that all programs fulfill Cordia’s mission and vision.
- Maintain records of all Program attendance and will notify Program Director of an unusual observations or causes for concern.
- Any additional duties as may be required to fulfill the scope of the position.

**Teamwork and Staff Engagement**
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other staff members, particularly the Wellness direct caregivers to assure their support and participation in programs target for assisted living residents.
- Interact effectively with Management Team colleagues and all personnel to gain support and cooperation in reaching program goals and to support the overall goals of the community;
- Assist the Program Director in all aspects of organizing, planning and presenting programs.
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety procedures and protocols as outlined by the company.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**:
Education: College Diploma required.

Skills: Proven program development and delivery skills across a diverse set of disciplines. Excellent event coordination and customer service skills.

Computer skills sufficient to handle the process of managing volunteers and staff assets in the program area, sourcing talent for various Community programs, and publicizing program calendars and events are required. Comfort with learning new technology, including audio visual and web-based broadcast capabilities.

Flexibility to work when needed, including occasional weekends, evenings and holidays.

Ability to walk, stand, lift moderately heavy furniture (tables and chairs) and other physical demands is required.

Required Training: Complete Cordia’s orientation before beginning work with potential residents. Ongoing in-service education and training as required.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
