ACTIVITY DIRECTOR
Position Description
The Activity Director is responsible for designing and implementing an enrichment program for the residents of the facility. This program will be designed to include residents of all acuity levels. This program shall be designed to enrich the emotional, physical and mental health of our residents. The Activity Director will design and manage this program within budgetary constraints.
The Activities Director is responsible for:
l. Acting as liaison between the facility and local community activities;
2. Developing a network of volunteers to interact with our facilities residents;
3. Encouraging the pastoral community to serve the religious needs of our residents, i.e., arranging for Bible study groups, celebration of sacraments for our home bound residents, and celebration of religious holidays, both ecumenical and faith specific;
4. Developing a monthly “activity calendar” to be used as a guide by facility staff in assisting our residents with daily enrichment activities;
5. Hands on activities with our facility residents;
6. Under the supervision of the Administrator, bringing in paid performers;
7. Planning outside trips for those residents able to participate on at least a monthly basis. Costs
may be assessed to those residents participating;
8. Working with the Facility Food Director to promote activities which include food preparation or use;
9. Review of activity materials and purchasing of activity supplies within budget constraints.
10. And most important, promoting the residents’ rights and the philosophy of assisted living:_maintaining independence, offering choice, promoting dignity, and recognizing individual needs._
**Requirements**:
1. Previous experience working with the elderly.
2. Familiar with local community services for the elderly.
3. Good communication skills. Good telephone skills.
4. Familiar with residents rights and assisted living philosophy.
5. Current State of WI driver’s license. Insurability under our insurance carrier’s vehicle policy.
6. Able to lead and direct care staff in planned activities.
7. Must comply to State of WI required training timely as scheduled by the Administrator.
Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to Relocate:
- Lake Mills, WI 53551: Relocate before starting work (required)
