Leather Assembler

Job Summary:
Lotuff Leather is a small Providence based atelier making high-end briefcases, handbags, and small leather goods. We are seeking someone to join our production team as an Assembler. Members of the Assembly team are responsible for preparing parts to be assembled, putting together products, quality checking pieces mid-process, and shaping edges on completed items. This role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow instructions.

**Duties**:

- Follow precise instructions, use jigs, & use standard measurements
- Assemble products using Barge and other adhesives
- Shape items using a grinding wheel and other tools
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in leather working or a related field is preferred
- Shop experience & familiarity with machinery
- Experience making things by hand in a craft or fine art setting
- Experience working in a team environment
- Sewing machine operation or sewing skills are beneficial

**Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools
- A good aesthetic sense & appreciation for hand-making
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
