Youth Directions & Alternatives (YDA) a private non-profit 501(c)(3) community and youth agency is hiring a full time Youth Outreach Worker. YDA has been celebrating youth since 1972, and continues to be a source of growth and support for adolescents in the Northport/East Northport, Harborfields and Elwood communities. Our goal at YDA is to improve the wellbeing and quality of life for neighborhood youth for generations to come.

We see a future where the adolescent experience has been maximized to its fullest potential. YDA aspires to create a nurturing and empowering environment that acknowledges uniqueness while guiding youth towards a path of personal growth, social development, and limitless opportunities.

Providing fun and creative programming for adolescents is our everyday. Fostering an environment filled with enjoyable and imaginative activities is crucial for social development. YDA aims to inspire curiosity, spark & support passion for learning, and encourage youth to explore their interests while being comfortable around their peers.

Requirements: BA in the human service field (Masters preferred) with 1 year of experience in youth services. Must have a valid NYS driver's license. Able to work a flexible schedule including Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 10am-5:30pm, Tuesdays 1:30pm-9pm, Fridays 10:30am-6pm and an occasional weekend. Salary: $50,000. Non Negotiable. The Youth Outreach Worker position is full time
- 35 hours per week.

Job responsibilities include providing programs and services which promote positive youth, family, and community development. Must possess the ability to plan, develop, and outreach programs for youth with enthusiasm and creativity. The provision of crisis intervention, short-term counseling, advocacy, and group services as needed. Work cooperatively and professionally with schools, churches, civic groups, community organizations and other human service agencies in order to positively represent the agency and its services.
