**About the Position**
The Custodian provides general and detailed cleaning services for Athletics, Academic, Administrative, and Residence Hall Buildings. This position works Monday through Friday (for eight hour shifts sometime between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. - specific schedule to be determined), and is considered essential personnel.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Routine cleaning of Residence Halls, Labs, Classrooms, and Offices, including dusting, vacuuming, and emptying trash
- Detailed cleaning of laboratories, to include showers, toilets, sinks, mirrors and all other flat surfaces
- Corridor cleaning, including walls, carpets, tiles, lights, ceilings, and all other flat surfaces
- Building entrance cleaning, including outside steps, plaza, and walk-off mats
- Cleaning of stair wells, dusting, sweeping, and mopping
- Operating power equipment, vacuums, scrubbers, burnishes, extractors, shampoo machines, and riding equipment in a safe manner
- Periodic project cleaning as prescribed by the supervisor of housekeeping
- Removal of trash and recycling materials from buildings
- Properly maintaining all equipment in the department to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Reporting all equipment malfunctions to supervisor
- Removing snow from all building steps, walkways, and ramps
- Providing event support, set up of chairs, tables, and other materials
- Performing floor and carpet care to include top scrubbing, burnishing, stripping, refinishing, extracting and shampooing
- Assisting with moving furniture and equipment as needed

**Line of Report**:The Custodian reports to the Manager of Housekeeping Services.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- High school degree or equivalent (e.g., GED)
- Ability to work the 5:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. shift, any day of the week depending on campus needs

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Three or more years of experience in a healthcare or education environment

**Special Requirements**
- Ability to obtain and maintain PA Act 12 background checks
- Possession of a valid U.S. Drivers’ License and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check
- This position is considered essential personnel, and the employee will be required to be on campus to provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the College; ensure continuity of key operations; and maintain and protect College’s properties.
