**(Work schedule Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm. This is primarily 32hrs/week position but may go up to 40hrs/week depending on the agency needs.)**

**Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has a total of six steps, Step 1 (entry level) through Step 6 (15 years of employment with the organization). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 upon their one-year anniversary. The current Step 1 rate for this position is $22.14/hr, and the current Step 6 rate for this position is $24.45/hr.**

We offer a competitive package of employee benefits for 30 to 40-hour week positions. You will receive a defined contribution amount of up to **$13,787.80** per year (prorated for part-time employees working less than 40 hours per week) to purchase the benefits of your choice on a cafeteria plan basis. Any amount of this defined contribution not used towards your benefits will be paid to you as taxable earnings. **We offer a retirement plan with a generous employer match starting at 4% after one year of employment. **Our paid time off is also more generous than many employers with vacation time accruing up to 25 days per year, 6 days of sick time per year and **12 paid holidays.**

The benefits offered in our cafeteria plan are as follows:

- **Medical benefits** -Kaiser-ranging from $0 Deductible Plan with $15 Copay to $,3200 Deductible Plan with Health Savings Account. Sutter Health plans are also available from $0 Deductible Plan to $2,500 Deductible Plan.
- **Dental benefits** -Guardian: 1 dental HMO and 2 PPOs
- **Vision benefits** - 2 options from Guardian VSP: a standard vision plan and an
enhanced vision plan

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Transport and retrieve mail and items, including commodities, supplies, equipment, legal and medical documents, medical charts and records, following established guidelines and procedures and in a timely and secure manner.

a. Obtain delivery assignment sheets from Manager or other Agency staff; obtain signed receipts for deliveries, when needed. b. Obtain necessary supplies from storage and internal customers and deliver requested items to proper location.

c. Plan routes ahead of time, if needed, to ensure the most expedited delivery/retrieval; prepare alternate routes in times of high traffic congestion.

d. Maintain the integrity and security of the item/s delivered by protecting it/them from wear or tear, exposure to the elements, liquids or other damage-causing material, or any other exposure to risk.

e. Maintain confidentiality, where warranted, and protect sensitive data at all times.

f. Respond to urgent dispatch orders for deliveries, remapping normal delivery routes, if needed.

2. Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and good working condition of the vehicle, interior and exterior, using established maintenance criteria; alert the Facilities Department of irregularities.*

a. Perform light preventive maintenance of vehicles; check fuel, oil, battery, etc. according to established schedule in order to ensure continued operation.

b. Report all accidents, incidents and/or breakdowns involving vehicle(s) while in use; fill out required forms for insurance purposes and/or Facilities attention.

3. Promptly report to any interruption to the delivery schedule to Manager or other Agency staff or party authorizing delivery/retrieval, e.g., any accident, mechanical breakdown, severe traffic congestion, or situation involving delay in the use of Agency vehicle; attend to the situation to ensure delivery, such as arranging for alternate transportation.

4. Accurately record a variety of required data on appropriate forms, e.g., mileage, fuel consumption, trip information, and maintenance and repair needs on Maintenance Checklist, and submit them in accordance with departmental policy and unit standards; maintain daily log and have accessible for review upon request; record all entries in a clear, concise and legible manner.*

5. Maintain a consistent, high quality, customer-focused service style when conducting business and providing services to staff and clients (internal customers), the general public, and other external customers.

a. Treat internal and external customers with respect, courtesy and tact, and demonstrate efficient use of time while on duty.

b. Be attentive to details of service requests from internal and external customers and Manager or other Agency staff.
c. Communicate with customers and obtain all required information necessary to determine and address their specific needs.
d. Provide clear, accurate information to fulfill a customer’s request for courier service completely and efficiently: explain procedures or materials; provide supplemental information or obtain that information from the appropriate source when it is beyond the scope of this position.
